100 Days of Batman, Day 75

Aaaahhhhh it is nice to be typing on a computer after using the cellphone last night. Anyhoo lets talk a little bit about Batman Blackest Knight Part Two: Batman Vs. Batman by Grant Morrison and art by Cameron Stewart. Bruce Wayne, the original Batman, has been dropped into the Lazarus Pit. Will it restore Bruce to the man he was before death or will it leave him in an utter state of madness?

All right lets mention the bad before we talk about anything else. Well it suffers from the same issues that Blackest Knight Part One suffered from. It feels like it is missing panels. It also starts in a flashback explaining why Batwoman was even at the Lazarus pit in the first place. Sadly it felt forced and awkward. Almost as if I should have read a Batwoman book that explained why she was there. In fact that would have probably been less confusing. So that is what I didn't like.

As for what I did like. The story is excellent, and the artwork is enjoyable. Watching Dick try to bring back his friend is truly heartbreaking. But the best part is finding out that the body that was placed into the pit was not even Bruce Wayne but rather a clone, a clone who I can only assume was used to trick people into thinking Bruce was truly dead. Now however instead of the Dark Knight a crazed clone is on the loose and must be stopped. What a fun book. Batman Blackest Knight Part Two: Batman Vs. Batman is most defiantly WORTH YOUR TIME.
