100 Days of Batman, Day 86

Part 3 of Batman & Dracula: Red Rain by Doug Moench and art by Kelley Jones is great. Absolutely WORTH YOUR TIME. Dracula has taken Commissioner Gordon as bait to lure Batman to him. At the same time however Batman and Tanya have put into action a plan of their own that will destroy the vampires Dracula has created in Gotham. Luring the vampires to the Batcave they trigger an explosion trapping them inside so that Tanya and her allies can begin destroying them. As a final act in destroying the vampires Batman destroys Wayne Manor allowing sunlight in to kill any surviving vampires this however also results in the death of Tanya.

With the vampires now dead Batman prepares to go after and kill Dracula as well as save Gordon. It is then revealed that Tanya had given Batman the gift of batwings and super strength that will allow him to fly and hopefully defeat Dracula. During the final face of Batman ultimately is able to kill Dracula upon a rotten oak tree but is bitten in the process resulting in blood loss that led to his death. Bruce Wayne is dead and buried but it is revealed he comes back as a vampire himself. Bruce Wayne is dead but Batman will live forever is how the book ends.

It was a book full of lots of fun. Anyone who likes to see different takes on the heroes they love should give this story a read. Those of you who have read it all ready I would love to hear your thoughts.
