100 Days of Batman, Day 72

This post includes Spoilers. You have been warned.

Revenge of the Red Hood Part Two: Scarlet by Grant Morrison and art by Phillip Tan delves deeper into what the Red Hood aka Jason Todd is up to. After a fairly successful attack on a meeting of criminals Red Hood and his sidekick Scarlett reveal themselves to Gotham, as it’s new heroes. Red Hood’s brand of justice however has caught the ire of a crime lord from Mexico who has sent the Flamingo to protect his interests in Gotham.

The story is ok in Part Two: Scarlet but it is not phenomenal. The story goes as such: Batman and Robin rush to stop Red Hood and Scarlet from killing one of the survivors from their previous massacre.  Batman and Robin fail and are thus captured. At the same time The Flamingo arrives in Gotham in a plane full of dead woman who he skinned and ate the faces from. Oh and he shoots Red Hood in the head. So that is the story.  Where is the mystery to be solved? Batman is a detective and thus their should be some sort of mystery but it is not here. Revenge of the Red Hood Part Two: Scarlet has potential and is COMPELLING but does not quite deliver.
